Uneasy most of the day? Simple tasks seem overwhelming? Trouble falling or staying asleep? Resistant to socializing or attending school? Does this describe you or your teen? These can be signs of anxiety, which are debilitating and frustrating. Therapy can help you learn the tools necessary for improving your quality of life.

Empowering you to feel in control of your thoughts and emotions is not only my passion, but my specialty as a Mental Health Therapist. Through identifying false beliefs, you have about yourself, others, and the world - we will work to restructure your thoughts, leading you towards increased confidence, enjoyment, and success. This Cognitive Behavioral approach to treating teen anxiety is empirically supported as the most effective way to reduce anxious symptoms.

Teen Anxiety

Research also recommends and supports the practice of relaxation skills as a way to induce a calm state and reduce mental and physical tension. With my background as a Certified Yoga Instructor I have a wide array of techniques and alternative strategies to develop your unique stress management program. Beginning a mindfulness practice can be intimidating, therefore I gently facilitate introductory exercises that are approachable and personalized to your needs. Through body and breath awareness, you will learn how to stop assuming and fearing what has not yet happened (or what may never happen) so you can begin living in the present. With continued practice, you will develop mastery of these invaluable tools necessary for managing your anxiety outside of our sessions and far into the future.
